Psychology, from the Greek psukhê, âme, et logos, science[1], is the scientific study of physical conditions, empirical knowledge or intuitive sentiments, ideas, the behavior of close and distant individuals, the ensemble of ways of thinking, feeling and acting, which characterize a person, an animal, a group, or a character. Separated into numerous branches of study, these disciplines deal with the domain, in addition to the theoretical and practical plan, with various therapeutical, social and even political or theological applications. Psychology aims to investigate the psyche, as the basis of a subjective structure and a specific functioning (process and mechanism), articulated in the perception and representation of the exterior world.
