Rheumatology is the specialty of diseases and functional issues within the motor system of the body. This notably encompasses inflammations of the bones, articulations and muscles, in addition to internal organs or the nervous system.

The rheumatologist is the expert in diseases, such as arthritis, arthrosis and osteoporosis. They are primarily responsible fort he diagnosis of these diseases and their corresponding treatment. They have knowledge of the examination methods to this effect, such as sonographic diagnosis or collecting samples of articular liquid.
